Once you've gotten into the groove of things (business, ministry, hobbies..anything really) it's very easy to get comfortable where you are. You've received the accolades, the likes, the shares, so you think "I've arrived". We can't afford to allow this to happen.
Often times, the validation we seek from others can be a hindrance to our commitment.
So, how do we prevent this from getting in the way? I'm glad you asked! Let's explore these statements and questions.
1. Keep your WHY at the forefront of your mind everyday. - Why did you choose to do this? Who are you doing this for?
2. You don't need to seek approval from man if God has graced you to perform the work. - Can you still be committed to your work without validation from others?
3. The work is NEVER finished. - The opportunities are LIMITLESS! As long as human beings have breath in their bodies, there will always be someone who desires your product or service. Also, you will never be done developing yourself because there is something to learn, change, or improve within us! So, let's put these things into action!
I'll leave you with this scripture which encourages us to remain committed:
"So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless." 1 Corinthians 15:58 (NLT)
Thank you for reading this month's focus on commitment! This has challenged me, and I pray that it's been challenging you. On Monday, we will start a new focus on restoration! Stay tuned for the next post!
